Meet Panagiotis, founder and head beekeeper at Melourgia.
Panagiotis was born in Chios, a Greek island in the Aegean Sea. As a kid, he spent his time riding his bike through cobblestone streets, playing hide and seek in olive groves, and climbing mandarin trees to grab a quick snack before dinner. Over time, innocent fun turned into an appreciation for the biodiversity around him. Appreciation led to research, and research led him to the magical world of bees.
“The world of bees fascinates me. Their constant creativity inspires me to live better and work harder. My company name, Melourgia, was inspired by the creativity of bees. Melourgia comes from the word ‘melissa’ (honeybee) and the suffix ‘ourgia’ (to create). Melourgia = honeybee creations.”
